Speaking and Leadership Development

Helping leaders think deeply, lead faithfully, and influence with conviction

Helping leaders think deeply, lead faithfully, and influence with conviction in a complex world.

For churches, organizations, and leadership teams seeking formation, not just information.

Forming Leaders for Faithful Influence

Leadership today is often shaped by urgency, visibility, and performance. But lasting leadership requires something deeper: clarity, conviction, and formation.

Terry works with leaders and teams to bridge the gap between theology and leadership practice helping them think clearly, lead faithfully, and navigate complexity with wisdom.

His approach is not built on trends or techniques, but on a framework that integrates Scripture, leadership theory, and real-world experience.

Selected Teaching Topics

Each topic is designed to help leaders think theologically, live faithfully, and lead with clarity in a complex world. These teachings integrate Scripture, formation, and real-world leadership practice.

Gospel-Centered Leadership: Foundation, Identity, and Direction

Leadership in the Church and in the life of the believer does not begin with strategy, it begins with the gospel. The gospel is not only the message we proclaim; it is the reality that forms how we think, lead, and live.

This teaching examines what it means to lead from a gospel-centered identity, how the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus shape leadership posture and decision-making, and why leadership detached from the gospel inevitably drifts toward performance, control, or cultural conformity.

Leaders will be challenged to re-anchor their identity in Christ and to lead from a place of grace, truth, and mission.

Appropriate for: Pastoral leadership gatherings, ministry teams, discipleship environments, leadership development cohorts

Spiritual Formation for Leaders: Becoming Before Leading

Leadership is not sustained by talent, strategy, or effort alone, it is sustained by formation. The condition of a leader’s inner life will always shape the quality and longevity of their leadership.

This teaching examines how God forms leaders over time, the role of Scripture, obedience, and spiritual discipline in leadership development, and why neglecting formation leads to burnout, compromise, or collapse.

Leaders will be invited to consider not only what they are doing, but who they are becoming, and to cultivate rhythms that sustain faithful leadership over time.

Appropriate for: Ministry leaders, pastoral teams, leadership cohorts, spiritual formation environments

Leadership with Integrity: Character, Conviction, and Responsibility

Leadership carries moral weight. Beyond results and performance, leaders are responsible for the cultures they create, the trust they build or erode, and the people they influence.

This teaching examines the relationship between character and authority, the ethical responsibilities of leadership, and what it means to lead with integrity in both visible and hidden areas of life.

Leaders will be challenged to align their private lives with their public leadership and to build trust through consistency, humility, and faithfulness.

Appropriate for: Leadership teams, pastoral leaders, governance and board environments, ministry and organizational leadership contexts

Leadership & Followership: The Foundation Most Leaders Overlook

The most effective leaders are first and foremost faithful followers of Jesus. Yet much of leadership thinking focuses on authority, influence, and outcomes while neglecting the relational and spiritual foundation that makes leadership possible.

This teaching explores the biblical and theological foundations of followership, the Christ-Centered Followership Paradigm, and why leadership that is not grounded in discipleship becomes unstable over time.

Leaders will gain clarity on how following Christ shapes how they lead others, and how cultivating a culture of healthy followership transforms teams, churches, and organizations.

Appropriate for: Pastoral leadership events, ministry conferences, leadership training environments, faith-based organizations

Faith & Culture: Leading with Clarity in a Complex World

Leaders today are navigating a cultural landscape marked by rapid change, competing narratives, and increasing pressure to compromise conviction for relevance.

This teaching explores how leaders can engage culture without losing theological clarity, how to discern truth in the midst of competing voices, and how to lead with both conviction and wisdom in environments that are often resistant to biblical truth.

Leaders will be equipped to think critically, engage faithfully, and lead with courage in a world that requires both clarity and compassion.

Appropriate for: Church leaders, ministry teams, young adult leadership environments, faith-based organizations

Missional Leadership: Leading with Purpose Across Every Sphere

Leadership is not an end in itself—it is a means of participating in the mission of God. Whether in the church, the marketplace, or the community, leaders are called to live and lead with purpose rooted in the gospel.

This teaching explores what it means to lead missionally, how to align leadership with God’s redemptive work in the world, and how to move beyond maintenance and into intentional, purpose-driven leadership.

Leaders will be equipped to see their influence as part of God’s larger mission and to lead with clarity, intentionality, and kingdom perspective.

Appropriate for: Church leadership, marketplace leaders of faith, mission-focused organizations, discipleship environments
